Fundación ARS TEOR/éTica: a specialist art library, open to researchers
A sustainable, low-cost solution to put a one-of-a-kind art collection online.
The challenge
The TEOR/éTica Library, an initiative of Costa Rica's most important art foundation and a benchmark in Central America, brings together art books that are hard to find anywhere else in the country. Without an automated system to manage the collection, neither researchers nor the foundation could make the most of it.
What we did
We advised the foundation on the most sustainable option and recommended Koha, an open-source library management system used by libraries worldwide:
- Linux server infrastructure.
- Installation, configuration and adaptation of the system to the library's needs.
- Training for the team cataloging the collection.
- Ongoing support and maintenance since implementation.
