Mapa de Obras: government accountability on an interactive map
A public tool that let anyone find, place by place, the public works their taxes paid for.
The challenge
The Solís Rivera Administration needed to account for the physical works and equipment completed or under way across the country, driven together with communities, institutions and municipalities. The information came from different ministries and institutions, and citizens had no simple way to look it up by location.
What we did
We built the platform with the Ministry of Communication and produced the campaign that went with it:
- Interactive map of the whole country with search by ministry or institution, keyword and location.
- A page for each project with photos and details.
- Map, terrain and satellite views, plus browsing by province.
- How-to videos plus radio and TV campaign materials.
